PRAGUE
(Autofox) - British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has officially opened
its 125th dealership in the 40th country in Prague today. The official sale and
service representation for the Czech Republic has been acquired by Auto-Exner
company recently. The showroom is located in Ceskomoravska Street, Prague 9. It
is possible to present up to seven cars in the area of 410 m2. "Aston
Martin exactly fits in between the luxurious brand Bentley and supersports
Lamborghini whose official dealer in the Czech Republic has been Auto-Exner
several years already," said the company owner Pavel Exner during the showroom
opening.
Car
service for Aston Martin cars is provided not far in Freyova Street within the
Bentley and Lamborghini car centre. "Thanks to the top equipment, the
service can satisfy requirements of the present and also the older Aston Martin
cars. Currently, there are about 50 to 55 of them in the Czech Republic,"
noted Exner. The service's capacity is up to 20 cars. Price of a service hour
amounts CZK 2,890. "Price around EUR 100 per hour is common in this car
category," he added.
All
presently offered models are featured in the Aston Martin Praha, which are
2-door coupes (eventually cabriolets with awning) with rear-drive system,
concerning the models DBS and DB9 in the design of coupe and also the cabriolet
Volante, V8 Vantage coupe, roadster and coupe V12 Vantage, too. The coupe V12
Vantage and DBS Volante (cabriolet) will be available as of July.
Auto-Exner
is currently offering the V8 Vantage Coupe with half-automatic sequential
transmission Sportshift for EUR 109,527 excl. VAT (about CZK 2.93 million), V8
Vantage Roadster Sportshift for EUR 122,095 excl. VAT (about CZK 3.26 million),
and DB9 Volante Sportshift for EUR 156,532 (about CZK 4.18 million). "The
cheapest Aston Martin car is available for CZK 2.5 million," noted Exner.
In
the new showroom, customers will find also the brand's original collection
holding the apparel, leather accessories, and small items including a separate
section Aston Martin 007 Range which offers a special collection of James
Bond's style products whose cult inherently belongs to Aston Martin.
The
first signals of opening the Aston Martin dealership in the Czech Republic
refer to the first half of this decade. As the first, A. Charouz Motors company
gave an indication which have been cooperating with the British carmaker in the
racing activities. "We addressed Aston Martin three years ago for the
first time. Negotiations about the dealership were proceeding for 15
months," said Exner. "We were negotiating with six to seven possible
partners in the Czech Republic," Aston Martin Lagonda director of
sales and marketing Bill Donnelly told Autofox.
Establishing
the automotive company Aston Martin dates back to 1914 when it was founded by
Lionel Martin and Robert Banford. The title Aston Martin was then created in
1919 as a combination of one of the founders' surname and the hill climb Aston
Hill. "Aston Martin has produced over 50,000 cars during 95 of existence,
which is like a weekly production of Toyota carmaker," said Donnelly.
Yearly
sale of the carmaker reaches now 6,000 to 7,000 cars according to him, while it
used to be 600 cars only few years ago. As well as the whole automotive
industry even the British carmaker has been struck by the economic crisis.
"Luxurious car sales have dropped by 40% this year, but only by 25% within
Aston Martin," said Donnelly.
The
Auto-Exner company, which was founded by Pavel Exner in 1991, has several car
centres in Prague. The company is an official dealer of premium cars Bentley and
Lamborghini in addition to the Volkswagen Group brands (Audi, Skoda, Seat,
Volkswagen) in the Czech Republic.
